Description

These chocolate date energy balls are the perfect healthy treat, combining sweetness from dates with rich chocolate flavor. Ideal for a quick snack or dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dates (fresh is best you want them SOFT)
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder (I used Ritual)
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (can sub honey, agave, or even almond butter)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (dark preferred)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (for melting)
  • Topping: drizzle of more chocolate and flaky sea salt on top

Instructions

  1. Blend dates in a food processor until a sticky paste forms.
  2. Add almond flour, cocoa powder, chocolate protein powder, vanilla, maple syrup, and salt. Blend until thick and fudgy.
  3. Roll into bite-sized balls and place on a lined tray.
  4. Freeze for 15–20 minutes (this helps the chocolate set perfectly).
  5. Microwave chocolate chips and coconut oil in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Using a fork, dip each ball into melted chocolate, tap off excess, and place back on parchment.
  7. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if using.
  8. Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until chocolate hardens, drizzle with chocolate, freeze again, and then top with flaky sea salt.

Notes

  • Fresh dates work best for a sticky texture.
