Description

A delicious Frangipane filling encased in flaky puff pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, combine almond flour, sugar, softened butter, one egg, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until creamy.
  4. Spread the frangipane filling over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border; place the hidden figurine if desired.
  5. Cover with another sheet of puff pastry and seal edges by crimping gently.
  6. Brush with the second beaten egg and cut small slits on top for steam vents.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Make sure the puff pastry is thawed properly for best results.
  • You can add additional flavors to the frangipane if desired.
