Description

Delicious cinnamon rolls filled with fresh strawberries and topped with cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk (lukewarm)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened) (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk in a saucepan until lukewarm.
  2. Combine it with yeast and granulated sugar in a bowl. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  4. Create a well in the center, add the yeast mixture along with melted butter, and mix until combined.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled.
  7. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle.
  8. Spread softened butter over the surface, sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with cinnamon, and layer sliced strawberries.
  9. Roll tightly from one edge, slice into rolls about 2 inches wide, and place on greased baking sheets.
  10. Let rise again while preheating oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Allow cooling slightly before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

  • Make sure the milk is lukewarm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.
  • For best results, use fresh strawberries.
